Following the kind donations made by Paddy, along with the incredible generosity shown through the GoFundMe page, we have set up the Dover RFC Paddy McAdam Legacy Fund in his memory.
This fund will be primarily aimed at supporting our mini, youth and girls section, with a particular focus on helping disadvantaged children and families within our local community access rugby at Dover RFC. The aim of the fund is simple: to remove barriers and create opportunities. It will help support young players with things such as membership fees, rugby equipment, clothing, kit, and any other costs that may prevent children from being able to fully enjoy and take part in rugby at our club.
Throughout this season and beyond, there will be events and certain Dover RFC branded items being sold through the clubhouse and club shop, with proceeds contributing directly towards the fund. Wherever you see either of the Paddy McAdam Legacy Fund logos above displayed on any items, events or activities, they are helping to support this important cause. In addition, all new sponsorship brought into the club will contribute a percentage towards the fund. This will help ensure the Legacy Fund continues to support those who need it most for many years to come.
Having spoken with Paddy’s family, we all felt this was the greatest and most fitting way to honour his memory. Paddy was a true club man who did so much for so many people, especially those who needed support the most. This fund is a lasting tribute to the values he lived by and the positive impact he had on Dover RFC and the wider rugby community.
We know Paddy would be incredibly proud of this Legacy Fund, and we hope all our club members, supporters, sponsors and the wider community will get behind it. Further details about eligibility and how to apply will be released prior to the new season
We are excited by the potential of this fund and the difference it can make to our mini, youth section and girls section, both now and in the future.
