Dover 2s Back to winning ways after new year hangover

Dover returned to winning ways after an under-strength side lost to canterbury in the opening game of the year last week, proving to strong in all areas of the game for a feisty 7oaks side.
Dover had ground out a narrow 15-10 victory in the reverse fixture and knew 7oaks were no push over as the opening 15 mins proved with neither side being able to exert pressure with defenses and some interesting refereing keeping much of the play between the 22s.
Dover gradually took control of the game with May and Surrendorf putting in some huge hits and the surging runs of Vick, Gill and Hewer mixing well with the elusive running of Haywood, Savage and Landman. Dover struck first on 25 mins after returning centres Nathan Annakie and Blair Charge combined well to send Mcnamara away down the Blind side, He burst two tackles before offloading to the supporting Haywood who showed good strength to dive over in the corner under pressure to hand Dover a 5-0 lead.
Dover fielded the 7oaks kick which was returned with interest as a solid forward platform allowed Richards and Phillips to get Dovers' exciting backline moving, Charge, Osbourne and Dean doing well to take Dover to the oaks 22. 7oaks piled into the ruck to try and slow Dovers' attacking momentum but only succeeded in knocking the ball loose, Gill was quickest to react-scooping up the ball and fending off a tackler before putting Osbourne in space, and he danced his way past two tacklers to score out wide and give Dover a deserved 10-0 lead. HT.
Dover started the second half going up the slope and immediately found themselves under pressure as 7oaks looked to attack through their pacey backs, Dean, Osbourne and Billy Plews showing their mettle in defense to stem the tide. Dover looked to exert pressure through their stronger set piece play and the boot of Phillips with Haywood a constant threat at scrum time and May and Surrendorf un-touchable in the lineout. 7oaks grew more and more frustrated as they failed to find any weaknesses in the Dover Defense and as a result niggle started to creep in to their play, not to be out done Dover upped their intensity in contact, a fact emphasized when 7oaks speedy winger found himself between a rock and a hard place when he ran down the channel defended by Vick and Gill, he narrowly evaded Vick but was nearly smashed out of his boots by Gill. The ball spilled loose with Haywood quickest to react, he spread the ball to the backs who showed excellent handling to go from one side of the pitch to the other, quick hands from Richards, Phillips and Annakie put Mcnamara in a Gap and he outpaced the cover to score a well fashioned converted try to Give Dover a 17-0 lead. Dover scented blood and were soon on the attack again with the impressive Vick to the fore with numerous strong runs, ably backed up by Richards who had an excellent game at 9. Phillips added a penalty after an oaks infringement at a ruck to give Dover a 20-0 lead with 15 mins to go.
From this point on the game became fractious as oaks resorted to niggle at the breakdown, and not being the shy type Dover gave as good as they got forcing the referee to award a series of penalties to both sides before finally losing patience and sin binning Dover Foward Dave Farrel and the 0aks No.9. Oaks' spunky openside then took centre stage, first making the mistake of running straight at craig may from a tap penalty, he then compounded his error by fighting with Ben Vick, The referee took control by giving both parties a dressing down before blowing the whistle on a feisty affair that was made harder than it needed to be by a promising Dover side. 20-0 Dover.
