Today saw the Dover Sharks traveling to Medway RFC for the Kent Festival.
The boys were in group E with O.Elthamians, Tunbridge Wells and Westcombe Park. The coaches knew that they were very strong teams and it would be a good test for the boys today. The first game was against O.Elthamians and Dover demonstrated their skill, speed and power in this game. Every player in the team was on their game rucking, tackling and moving the ball around the pitch. Dover won the game 15-5 with the try’s coming from Thomas Lynch, Owen Mills and Tyrese Hardy.
The second game of the day was against Westcombe Park and again Dover were on top of their game working as a team. They played a lovely set piece in the back line for Joe Curran to get his first try in a Dover shirt. Dover ended up winning 25-10 with the try’s being scored by Thomas Lynch, Thomas Mead, Tyrese Hardy, Owen Mills and Joe Curran.
With Dover top of the group with one game to go, they then had to face Tunbridge Wells. Dover took control of the game from the start and kept working hard and playing their style of rugby. The final score was 20-0 with the try’s scored by Thomas Lynch, Ryan Morris, Rhys Jones and Tyrese Hardy.
So with Dover winning their Group they had to play Sevenoaks in the Cup quarter final. Both teams were playing very good and exciting rugby but, Sevenoaks ended up coming out on top by winning 20-5, the Dover try scored by Owen Mills. The coaches and parents are very proud of what the boys have achieved in this cup SO WELL DONE LADS from all the coaches and parent’s.
