Today saw the boys playing for the Dover Cup against Folkestone and a traveling side from Holland, Octopus
.
The first game of the day saw Dover taking on Octopus. Both teams were up for the game and played very fast and strong rugby. However, neither team managed to score in the first half. The second half saw some fresh legs on the pitch and Dover were back in the driving seat seeing Thomas Lynch with the first try of the day. Tyrese Hardy scored a second and Thomas Lynch finished it off with another. Final score 15-0 to Dover.
Second game of the day was Folkestone against Octopus which was just as good as the first game seeing Folkestone coming out on top 20-0. So, Dover had to beat Folkestone in order to keep the cup at home.
With all to play for in this game, Dover and Folkestone began playing very fast and powerful rugby. Both teams used the ball well in attack and defended fiercely. Thomas Lynch broke though to get a well-deserved try for Dover but, Folkestone hit back with a very powerful run from a penalty to even scores 5-5 at half time. Samael Ditton ran over two outstanding try’s in the second half after some great work from all the team. Thomas Lynch closed the game off with another try making the score 20-5.
Dover kept the cup at home so well done to all. The training has paid off and all the coaches and parents are so proud of the team and how far they have come on this season. They are playing with a big team spirit and working together with great sportsmanship. So from me and all the coaches thank you boys for a great season and well done.
WELL DONE DOVER SHARKS A GREAT SEASON!!!!!!!!!!!
